It's On the Up with Vertigro! Jul 04

This really is what the Urban gardener has been waiting for……..

Vertigro is a free-standing modular system that enables you to grow your own vegetables, plants, herbs and flowers where ground space is limited.

The space-saving vertical design makes it ideal for the urban garden. Vertigro means you can have plants for patios, courtyards, roof terraces and balconies, without sacrificing all your social area.

Primarily the Vertigro is designed to be used with plug plants – baby plants already with their proper leaves and a smallish root.

Vertigro's inventor, Claude Lester says she has grown

Strawberry “Symphony” & “Darselect”

Tumbling Tomatoes  (red and yellow)

Aubergine “Baby Doll”

Petit pois “Waverex”

Dwarf French Bean “Slenderette” (very successful last year)

Courgette

Spinach

Sorrel

Lettuces: assorted red & green “cut & come again” varieties including Lollo Rosso

Rocket (normal & wild)

Herbs:

Fennel – bronze & green

Coriander

Parsley – flat & curly leafed

Tarragon

Sage (although its struggling)

Chives & Garlic Chives

Various  Thymes (creeping & trailing)

Claude Lester came up with the idea some 10 years ago when she was diagnosed with ME/CFS and had to stop work. She relocated to Brighton and developed an interest in growing her own plants and vegetables, but her new home only had a small roof terrace.

Claude tried many various ways to grow plants and veg - all of them took up too much of her precious outdoors space. Finally, she came up with the idea of a modular hanging garden and  designed something that would suit all her needs.

Vertigro is the result. It is built to last out of treated timber and Aluzinc, and all you need to do is change the grow bag at the end of each crop. It can of course be for bedding plants too to have a lovely splash of colour up the wall. It can be watered manually or by adding onto a watering system easily.

We are pleased to be supplying such an innovative way of growing popular plants and vegetables.
